THE BUILDING
A New York City skyline for everybody.
The contemporary aesthetic of 161 12th Street’s exterior envelope is complemented by sophisticated interiors that pair minimalist lines with rich finishes to accomplish understated elegance.
Inspired equally by the local artistic community and the historic industrial aesthetic of the neighborhood, the façade of this newly constructed building has been designed with matte black aluminum panels fabricated in Italy. Oversized windows have been placed and oriented with care to capture the best views and light throughout the day while preserving privacy. Architectural elements such as horizontal façade bands that define each of the six stories and sheer glass balcony railings are among details offering a refined reinterpretation of the commercial warehouses that once dominated the streets of Gowanus.
